Skill Levels Explained…
It’s a Minefield!.
It’s important you know what you’re asking for.. and understand what you’re getting. Not all ‘medics’ are created equal, and the differing skill sets come with some differing price tags.
If you’re governed by budget alone, your Medical Cover may not be appropriate if the worst were to happen, which could cause you some hefty insurance related issues. We’re always happy to provide a recommendation, based on Risk Assessments and Industry Knowledge, to keep you and your team safe.
First Responder (FR3)
A little higher in scope than a Basic First Aider. Best used at Low Risk Studio or Location Shoots.
First Responder (FR4)
A little more knowledge than FR3, but with additional trauma and patient assessment skills. Best used
where there is a reasonable risk of minor injury due to activities taking place.
Ambulance Technician (EMT)
Entry Level Ambulance Clinician, Autonomous Practitioner, less than a Paramedic, but a good all-rounder. Can be combined with a Paramedic, or Emergency Driver on an Emergency Ambulance.
HCPC Paramedic (Para)
Nationally Registered Clinician, Advanced Life Support Trained, Full Scope of Emergency Medications. Best placed for Stunts, Challenges or Specialist Work, especially where an Emergency Ambulance is involved.
NMC Nurse (Nurse)
Nationally registered clinician, Often slightly more restricted in autonomy than a Paramedic. Great in a Studio or Location Medical Centre, or Managing Occupational Health Requirements and longer term commitments.
The listed grades are by no means the full set, they’re the most common grades we’d provide to Media projects. We have an abundance of team and contacts, so can provide almost anyone you need, anywhere in the UK. Including Physiotherapists, Specialist Advisors, Critical Care Paramedics, Doctors, Paediatric Specialists, Welfare teams and so
much more.
Have a discussion with our team and we’ll show you how we can manage your requirements.
